Terrace Martin "Here My Dear" ShortFilm/MusicVideo

Earlier this year I got word that Terrace Martin was interested in working with us on a music video project. Fresh off doing 3 music videos for HipHop legend Kurupt's "StreetLights" album (which Terrace Martin produced) we began to brainstorm some ideas. When I first met with Terrace Martin in early april we were looking to do a conventional music video, but upon further exploration the idea for the "Here My Dear" short film sparked. Terrace played me the first 2 songs off the album, and to me they seemed to be opposites of each other, to me they were structured in a way that they complemented each other, one negative one positive. So we decided to go deeper than a regular music video and create something creative. The outcome is a relationship in reverse, as if someone were to analyze a couples relationship from end to start. The process from start to finish on this short film was very interesting. I got to experience in a very small way, the future of where APLUSFILMZ is going. And in the process i got to work with a very talented individual in Terrace Martin, that pushes me to be better and more creative than whatever project I did last.

In the age when just about anyone can grab a camera, i phone, flip cam and create content. "Here My Dear" stands as the first of many projects that APLUSFILMZ will be taking on, which take on unconventional approach to music video production. Being artistic and creative is the only way to stay sane in this ever so changing world of technology, music, and film making.

Further more, Terrace Martin's "Here My Dear" project is released today 9/28/2010. Im glad those that download the project today can finally listen to the music i've been bumping in my car for the past 4 months lol

APLUS ORIGINAL CONTENT Presents: KENDRICK LAMAR

APLUS: We first met K.Dot in April 2009 to shoot the video for Fuck A Hook. With Jay Rock, Absoul and the whole TDE crew we climbed down into the LA River; shooting all day for the first track off his project B-4 I Commit Suicide (which was spelled out on his shirt in black tape). A couple days later he took us to his home in Compton to shoot the second track Today. Tons of people turned out to show love and we had to keep changing locations before getting to a spot that would let us shoot the second verse with everybody in it.

Later that year, around the time we shot Jay Rock and G Malone's Dollars Make Sense, K.Dot said he was taking his real name Kendrick Lamar and was working on a new project. There was talk of going back to change the titles and re-shoot one of the Fuck A Hook verses, but in the end the videos didn't fit the new Kendrick Lamar and were never put out.

He dropped The Kendrick Lamar EP in December to major buzz and brought some serious attention to him and the Top Dawg family. This is hands down one of the best tapes of '09 (and maybe 2010). -Download That Shit!-

So in prep for his follow-up The Kendrick Lamar OD, we decided to talk with Kendrick about the videos, the name change, and his image as an artist to put out with the unreleased videos.
